Supplementary information only. This site is not an official warning service, emergency notification system, or substitute for local authorities and official National Weather Service channels. Information can be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable.

Using this site

Severe Weather Map is provided as a small, noncommercial community project for general informational use. You may use the public interface for ordinary personal purposes. Do not misuse the site or its providers, attempt to bypass request limits or access controls, or use automated traffic that interferes with availability.

Emergency decisions

Never rely on this site as your only source of emergency information. For threatening weather, use official National Weather Service channels, Wireless Emergency Alerts, NOAA Weather Radio, local emergency management, and other authoritative sources available in your area. Follow instructions from public-safety officials first.

Third-party services and attribution

The site depends on services that have their own terms and availability:

Google Maps features are subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms and applicable Google Terms of Service.
Alerts and forecasts come from the National Weather Service API.
Radar data is provided by RainViewer; underlying radar sources are listed on its source page.
Location search is provided by Open-Meteo using GeoNames data, attributed under CC BY 4.0.

Provider names, marks, map content, and data remain subject to their respective owners and licenses. Provider outages, limits, policy changes, and data errors may affect the site.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the extent permitted by law, the site operator is not liable for loss or damage arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the site or third-party information.

Privacy

The Privacy notice explains browser location, provider requests, local storage, and production-only first-party analytics.

Changes and questions
